The Order

The Order is an international community of men and women cherishing the revitalization of the traditions of the Knights' Order and the continuity of their humanitarian work.

It refers to the traditions of various European Orders of the Holy Spirit especially the Order Cordon Bleu du Saint Esprit founded by Henry III.

The Order sees itself as a Christian community without denominational preference.
It strives to transfer chivalrous actions to modern times.

The order sees in its ranks personalities that excel in professional engagement and social volunteering.

The Order was refounded in 1969.

To provide humanitarian aid at home and abroad, fostering international relationships, and supporting cultural projects are the most important tasks of the Order.

The Order is governed by the Grand Master who is assisted by the Order's Executive Council and the Order's Chapter. The Order is regionally subdivided into commanders' offices which are governed by a commander appointed by the Grand Master.

All principal decisions are reached by the General Convention of the community of all knights and dames of the Order. Admission to the order requires the recommendation and support of at least two members of the Order.
An appropriate period of time is followed by admission into the order (investiture) as a rule in the context of a festive service and by knighting and being handed the Order's mantle. The Order's oath is to be sworn.
